I'm Sam and I like to create things

I'm a certified Umbraco and Sitecore web developer living in Bournemouth with 10 years of commercial ASP.Net experience. I've built website functionality for many national and international charities and businesses.

I enjoy photography, and as well as taking pictures I've also developed third party plugins for the image processor CaptureOne.

Development

Over the years I've worked with a variety of clients, helping them to create websites that integrate with CRMs, payment providers, vacancy portals, and numerous internal systems.

Free and open source

Coding for money is fine, but coding for fun is where you get real satisfaction. I've created a collection of open source projects ranging from party games, to photography tools, to static site builders.

The Imposter

The imposter is a party game for 4-7 people played on each individual's mobile phone. Each round one player is randomly chosen as the imposter, and that player needs to discover the secret word without attracting suspicion from the others.

How it was made

PanoCapture

PanoCapture is a free and open source plugin for CaptureOne that allows users to create panoramas from multiple photos.

PostCapture

PostCapture is a CaptureOne plugin (and standalone program) that applies different watermarks and borders to images depending on EXIF data.

xStatic for Umbraco

xStatic is a free Umbraco package that generates static HTML sites from Umbraco content. This allows for very cheap and fast hosting of simple sites.

UmbracoFolio

Every component I build for my website is available for free to anyone else that wants to use it. Just install the UmbracoFolio package to a clean Umbraco installation.

Photography

Fairly recently I've discovered photography and will often be seen carrying one of my cameras. I use Sony APS-C cameras and photo editing software that does not come with a forced subscription (CaptureOne, Affinity Photo, and Luminar).
